Dangote is Hiring Auto-Electrical Technician (Heavy Equipment), The Auto-Electrical Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of heavy equipment electrical systems and components in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendations. The role ensures the safety and optimal operation of heavy mobile plant machinery at all times. Dangote Cement
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform daily, periodical, planned, preventive maintenance, major repairs, overhauls, running, and breakdown maintenance on auto-electrical systems, including starter motors, alternators, batteries, electronics, and instrumentation of heavy-duty machinery.
Adhere to manufacturer’s guidelines and safe operating procedures to ensure equipment is optimally utilized and available for operations.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain daily check sheets for auto-electrical systems, and provide spare parts consumption reports as required by supervisors.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of repairs and maintenance activities.
System Availability: Ensure continuous availability of heavy mobile equipment for operations, minimizing downtime related to auto-electrical system failures. Housekeeping: Maintain proper housekeeping standards during and after completing maintenance tasks. Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training to junior technicians and helpers to aid in their professional development.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose faults in auto-electrical, electronics, and instrumentation systems and resolve them effectively.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Report any accidents, near misses, or incidents to the relevant authorities.
Tool Handling: Properly handle and use maintenance tools, ensuring their proper care and usage. Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement best practices for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned by the senior technician or management.
Requirements:
Academic/Professional Qualifications:
Full Technician Course (FTC) or equivalent qualification. Dongote is Hiring Auto-Electrical Technician (Heavy Equipment)
Over 5 years of working experience in maintaining heavy mobile equipment.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic control systems and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with mining operations, maintenance practices, and health and safety management.
Proficient communication skills.
Strong understanding of wiring diagrams, wiring harnesses, and diagnostic codes.
Competence in using diagnostic tools such as CAT ET or Terex software.
